ChoralWiki:Record year for CPDL

CPDL has had a very good year in 2012. Today, the penultimate day of 2012, CPDL passed the 1,700 new score pages mark for the year. Previously, on December 20th CPDL had passed gthe 1,600 mark, and on December 5th, CPDL had reached and passed not only the 1,500 new score pages mark for 2012, but also the 15,000 total score pages milestone. Currently, CPDL is just shy of 15,200 score pages.

The past year has capped three years of unprecedented growth at CPDL, during which scores were contributed that accounted for more than 4,800 new score pages – some 32% of our collection. Such progress could not have been possible without the generous efforts of those contributing new scores.

Earlier this year CPDL was granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status by the federal government, retroactive to May 26, 2010. Since announcing our tax exempt status, we have begun to see monetary contributions arrive via the Donations link on the left of each page. We are grateful for this support for, although CPDL has no paid staff or officers, we do encounter costs of paying for and maintaining several servers for our Contributor, Visitor, and test ChoralWiki sites, as well as legal fees and other costs of operation.
