Description: A folk hymn (Jackson 1953a, No. 122), first published for two voices as New Canaan in Wyeth's Repository, Part Second in 1813, and arranged for four voices by Ananias Davisson in 1816. Davisson's arrangement was reprinted by William Hauser in The Hesperian Harp (1848), p. 63. Words by Isaac Watts, 1717, paraphrase of Psalm 132, Part 2, with eight stanzas.
