Spanish text Soy serranica, y vengo d'Extremadura. ¡Si me valerá ventura! Soy lastimada, en fuego d'amor me quemo; soy desamada, triste de lo que temo. En frío quemo, y quémome sin mesura. ¡Si me valerá ventura!

English translation I am a mountain girl, And I come from Extremadura. If only fortune would help me! I am pitiful, In the fire of love I burn; I am unloved, And sad at what I fear; In the cold I burn, I burn endlessly. If only fortune would help me!

French translation Je suis une montagnarde Et je viens d'Estrémadure Si je pouvais avoir de la chance! Je suis blessée Dans le feu de l'amour je brûle Je ne suis pas aimée Triste de ce que je ressens. Dans le froid je brûle Et je brûle sans cesse.
