Wanderlied

I've just uploaded a Schumann edition in English translation. I can't find the Schumann source anywhere but, looking at the translation, it appears to me that it may well be a translation (poetic, not literal) of Justinus Kerner's poem, which appears in your edition of Wanderlied (Friedrich Hegar). I don't have any German to speak of, so I would welcome a second opinion from a native German speaker. No urgency, however.Jamesgibb (talk) 10:27, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

I also couldn't find a corresponding choral set (which doesn't mean anything). It is probably an arrangement of the song Op. 35, No. 3. The poem is definitely by Justinus Kerner. In the edition by Clara Schumann (see IMSLP) it is titled: "Wanderlust". The title in Schumann Sämtliche Lieder, Band I, Edition Peters is "Wanderlied". Nikolaus Hold (talk)

Thanks, that was very helpful. It's definitely and arrangement of Op.35 no.3.

Template LastNameLink

Hello Nikolaus, I notice you have been using {{LastNameLink}} on Musica Divina Vol. II (Carl Proske) and Musica Divina Vol. III (Carl Proske). That's okay, but it stands out a little, because most tables on CPDL are <Firstname> <Lastname>. Do you know about Template:{{ss}}, that sorts the same way as your template, but displays normally? For example, TrentCodices/CompleteList. But you can do it either way, as you wish. — Barry Johnston (talk) 15:43, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

"displays normally": Yes, all long-time CPDL users are used to (brainwashed) that a sorted list / column of a table looks completely unsorted. You can easily check that on every page of the Category: Composers. All other human beings expect that a sorting is immediately understandable to the naked eye, i.e. it is tracable starting with the first letter of each line. Therefore I rejected the template {{ss}} regretfully and struggled with the creation of {{LastNameLink}}. Now I intend to adapt the "Music publications" pages that I have created myself. I can understand your concern. Stay safe and healthy. — Barry Johnston (talk) 18:22, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Richard Müller

Thankd for adding the biographical information, Nikolaus. I couldn't find anything online about him when I added the work. Jamesgibb (talk) 16:30, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
