Description: Words by Isaac Watts, 1706, Hymn 10 of Book 1, in six stanzas. Wood used the first two stanzas of Watts' hymn in his composition. A different set of words for this tune were published in Andrew Law's A Select Number of Plain Tunes in 1782; these words were later used by Abraham Wood in his anthem A Hymn on Peace, published as a separate in 1784.
