Born: c. 1490 Bruges (?)

Died: Dec. 7 1562 Venice

Biography

The famous maestro di cappella of St. Mark's at Venice (1527-1562) was born in West Flanders and studied in Paris with Jean Mouton before moving to Rome (1515 or slightly before) and establishing connexions with the courts of Hungary and Ferrara.
