Description: Arranged for four-part choir with piano (or orchestra) accompaniment by Gustav Holst, 1920. Stanzas 1, 2, and 4: tune written by Louis Bourgeois, 1560; arranged "from Ravenscroft's Psalter" (which is an harmonization by John Dowland, 1621). For other versions of this tune, see Old hundredth. Stanzas 3 and 5: arranged "from J. S. Bach's Cantata No. 130", 1724. Words by William Kethe, 1561. "Kethe's version of Ps. C was doubtless written for this tune" (Julian, Dictionary of Hymnology, 1907).
