Some editions on CPDL are released under a Creative Commons license. There are many different types of license so to know what you can and cannot do with the edition, visit the pages linked to below. If you can't find a direct link to the license below, search from the Creative Commons home page. All licenses require that the author and teh licensing terms are correctly mentioned in case of redistribution, but differ in the licensing terms as described below.

The freest CC license is the "Attribution" license, which allows free use and the creation of derived works (e.g. arrangements). This is roughly equivalent to the BSD license for software.

The "Share-Alike" license also allows free use, but requires for derived works that they also be distributed under the Share-Alike license. This is roughly equivalent to the GNU General Public license for software.

Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Generic
Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Germany
Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported
Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States
