Biography Goudimel's first published chanson calls him a student at Paris University in 1549, from which various birthdates have been inferred: New Grove gives a window 1514-1520; Baker's 7th says 1510; others 1505 to 1525. He is presumed to have been killed in the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre or its aftermath.
