Ditene, o buon Pastori,
onde vien tanta luce,
che n'ei profondi horrori
di meza notte il mezzo giorno aduce.

E nato l'oriente,
nato è'il sol' di giustizia,
che da l'oscura mente,
sgombra il peccato e scaccia ogni mestizia.

Ditene, o Pastor' santi,
Ond' è quest'Armonia?
Ei non usati canti
ch'empion l'aria di dolce melodia.

Fan feste l'alte spere,
che finita è la guerra;
et l'angeliche schierre
annuntian gloria in cielo et pace'in terra.
