Biography

  • 1839 Geboren am 14. Januar, in Niedernau, bei Rottenburg am Neckar (Kreis Tübingen). Sohn eines Lehrers und Organisten.
  • 1846 Neuhausen/Fildern
  • Lehrerausbildung. Lehrer in Neuhausen.
  • 1857 Studium am Stuttgarter Konservatorium.
  • 1862 Dozent für Tonsatz, Klavier und Orgel am Stuttgarter Konservatorium.
  • 1871 Orgelkonzert in der Royal Albert Hall, London.
  • 1872 Gestorben am 7. Juni.

Komponist von Klaviermusik, Liedern und Orgelmusik. Von Liszt geschätzter Organist, er nennt ihn "einen der größten Orgelvirtuosen der Neuzeit". Konzerte in Deutschland und England.
