Description: The text is from Il Pastor fido (Guarini):Atto quarto; scena nona, lines 149-180. In the madrigal here presented a number of lines have been omitted from the Guarini text: lines 169-178. It seems that in an earlier manuscript of the madrigal these lines were present, as in the separate voices the number of "bars" does not comply with the Basso continuo. I have chosen the following procedure: The BC has been taken as the reference, more so because the BC lines show barlines. Next I have copied every voice-line from the beginning, untill textline 168. Next I have copied all the voicelines backwards starting from the last measure. This procedure leads to a perfect fit with the BC and also results in a good harmony of the complete ensemble.
