To update your PDF, midi, or notation file at CPDL you upload a new file, but one that has the exact name as the old file. If it tells you that the file already exists, and asks you if you want to replace it, click on <save> to do the replacement. It is worth writing down the URL which was used to store your uploaded file. RIGHT-click on the name of the file in the window that appears after you upload your file, and then select Properties from the pop up list in the window. The file name that appears in the window that appears next has an entry that begins "http://...." copy this info down. It is your file URL you may need later. (You can cut and paste from this window into a text editor to make the process less tedious if you want to.)

Note that the replacement method only works if your file is already stored on the CPDL server ( NOT on the Williams.edu server )

If you are unsure of the file name you used when it was uploaded go to the music works page, ( it will be like this one: )

http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/In_monte_Oliveti_%28Giovanni_Battista_Martini%29

and find your score entry: ( such as I demonstrate below: )

*CPDL #2663: [http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/sheet/mart-inm.pdf http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/8/84/Icon_pdf.gif][http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/sound/mart-inm.mid http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/8/81/Icon_snd.gif][http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/source/mart-inm.zip ENCORE].
:Editor: [[User:Marco Croci|Marco Croci]] (added 2001-05-10). Score information: 24 kbytes Copyright: [[ChoralWiki:CPDL|CPDL]]
:Edition notes:

The URLs inbedded above beginning with: [http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/... contain the filenames for the example listing. Your filenames will be different but in the same spot these 3 files appear in in the CPDL #2663: line above.

http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/sheet/mart-inm.pdf <-- the printable score ( .pdf .ps .gif )

http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/source/mart-inm.zip <-- the notation file (.enc .mus . lp . sib .nc .zip )

http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/sound/mart-inm.mid <-- the sound file ( .mid )

If your filenames begin with http://wso.williams.edu/cpdl/... then you will have to edit in the new name into the works file.(ie. Replace all URL info above (as in the CPDL #2663 line above) in your works page with your 3 new file pointers (URLs), and be careful not to type <Enter-Key> as you do this)

If your file name begin with http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/.... then you probably updated automatically when you uploaded the file, and after that checking the links in your works page you are done updating your files.

As a side note it is worth noting that the http entries which follow the file URLs are little graphics files: They display the little PDF symbol, and small MIDI sound symbol like the following: Icon_pdf.gif Icon_snd.gif and should not be changed. The notation program has no graphic, just the word ENCORE, FINALE, NOTEWORTHY, etc and the _ BLANK just adds a space.

The URLs which makes these PDF and Midi graphics appear are:

http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/8/84/Icon_pdf.gif
