(A) In monte Oliveti ad patrem oravit:
Pater si fieri potest transeat a me calix iste.
Spiritus quidem promptus est caro autem infirma.
(B) Fiat voluntas tua.
(C) Verumtamen non sicut ego volo, sed sicut tu vis.

(A) Au mont des Oliviers, il pria en s´adressant á son Père:
"Père, si cela est possible, faites que ce calice s´éloigne de moi;
car si l´esprit est prompt la chair est faible;
(B) Que Votre volonté soit faite."
(A) Sul monte degli ulivi Gesú pregava il Padre:
Padre, se è possibile, allontana da me questo calice.
È vero che lo spirito è forte, ma la carne è debole.
(D) Verso: State desti e pregate per non entrare in tentazione.
German translation
(A) Responsorium: Auf dem Ölberg betete Jesus zum Vater:
Vater, wenn es möglich ist, lass diesen Kelch an mir vorübergehen.
Der Geist ist zwar willig, doch das Fleisch ist schwach.
(C) Aber nicht wie ich will, sondern dein Wille geschehe.
(D) Versus: Seid wachsam und betet, damit ihr nicht in Versuchung geratet.
