Born: 13 April 1757, Chester, England

Died: 4 June 1841, Chesterfield, England

Biography James Boden was an English Congregationalist pastor in Hanley and Sheffield. Several of his hymns were first published in Evangelical Magazine 1777-1790. In 1801, he co-edited a large compilation of hymns, A Collection of above Six Hundred Hymns in which many of his own hymns appear.
