Edition notes: The original order of staves is Counter - Tenor - Treble - Bass, with the counter part printed in the treble clef an octave above sounding pitch. The first verse only of the text is given in the original: subsequent verses have been added editorially, on the basis of the title 'Psalm 5. Verses 1/2 3 8 & last' in the original. Small grace notes in the source have been written out in full, and cues on the Treble and Bass staves doubling the Counter and Tenor parts for keyboard accompaniment have been omitted.
