Edition notes: The original order of staves is Alto - Tenor - Bass - Soprano - Instrumental Bass, with the alto part printed in the treble clef an octave above sounding pitch. The first verse only of the text is given in the original: subsequent verses have been added editorially, on the basis of the title 'Psalm 5. Verses 1/2 3 8 & last' in the original. Small grace notes in the source have been written out in full, and cues on the treble and instrumental bass staves doubling the alto and tenor parts for keyboard accompaniment have been omitted.
