Lord in thy wrath reprove me not,
though I deserve thine ire:
Ne yet correct me in thy rage,
O Lord I thee desire.

For I am weak, therefore (O Lord)
of mercie me forbeare:
And heale me lord, for why? thou know’st,
my bons do quake for feare.

Herr, tadle mich nicht in deinem Grimm,
obwohl ich deinen Zorn verdiene:
Und strafe mich nicht in deiner Wut,
o Herr, denn mich verlangt nach dir.

Denn ich bin schwach, deshalb (o Herr)
habe aus Gnade Geduld mit mir:
Und heile mich. Warum? Du weißt,
