Edition notes: This is the arrangement by William Hauser, transcribed from The Olive Leaf, 1878. Note shapes changed from 7-shape to 4-shape. Hauser attributes the tune to James C. Lowry, and the words to Mrs. Sarah Jones. Hauser calls his arrangement of the tune Iambic. Five stanzas included. MusicXML source file(s) in compressed .mxl format.

Description: First published in 1820, in Carden's Missouri Harmony, p. 151; and in Davisson's Supplement to the Kentucky Harmony; unattributed in both sources. Arranged by James C. Lowry in 1825, and arranged again by William Hauser in 1848. Words by an unknown author, apparently first appearing in these 1920 publications, in five stanzas.
