Edition notes: individual movements also available. Rather high set. More comfortable a whole step down.

Edition notes: Comment by Adam Cole: Actually, as with Monteverdi's 6vv Missa "in illo tempore" and his Vespers of 1610, the apparent high tessituras herein are due to chiavette (high clefs), a notational convention which modern scholarship suggests was sung at a downward transposition of a fourth. I've taken the liberty of posting a version in this key, with the alto line moved to octavo clef for readability. The bottom line now assumes a real bass tessitura (to bottom F), and the tenors and sopranos can lay aside the helium masks. As always, it is modern altos who suffer most with this approach--there are now a number of low E's and F's--but they are welcome to help the soprano/mezzos with their smattering of low A's!
