Description: This publication contains the seven Penitential Psalms. They are set by psalm verses for 5 voice choir (SATTB), some verses have a reduced number of voices (from 2-4). Each psalm is ended by a Doxology, where the Sicut erat in principio is for 6 voices (SSATTB). These seven psalms are tonally organised. The first Peninential psalm is in Mode 1, the second in Mode 2 etc. The collection also contains an eighth motet, comprising Psalms 148 and 150. Unlike the seven penitential psalms the verses are not set in separate movements, this psalms consists of 4 larger parts. This piece is also for 5 voices (SATTB), the last part for 6 (SSATTB). It is in Mode 8.
