Error list

The two editions of “Te Deum” KV141 by W.A. Mozart available at CPDL ([VOL] by Marco Voli and [SYL] by Song Yung Lee) are essentially identical. However, the following differences, that are not necessarily errors, have been noted with respect to the edition of the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe [NMA] available on-line at the Mozarteum web site. The choir training/rehearsal aids available on the Choralia web site have been corrected in compliance with this list of observed differences.

Soprano and alto, measure 7: spelling is “Omnis” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “Omnes” in [NMA].
Bass, measure 19: the second note of the measure is E in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is G in [NMA].
Bass, measure 21: the last note of the measure is G in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is F in [NMA].
All voices, measure 32: spelling is “Obem” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “Orbem” in [NMA].
Soprano, measure 32: the last-but-one note of the measure is C natural in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is C sharp in [NMA].
All voices, measure 36 - 37: spelling is “immesae” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “immensae” in [NMA].
All voices, measure 38 - 39: spelling is “Veneramdum” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “Venerandum” in [NMA].
Bass, measure 41: the last-but-three note of the measure is A in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is G in [NMA].
All voices, measure 42: spelling is “Paracletum” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “Paraclitum” in [NMA].
Tenor, measure 54 - 55: the last note of measure 54 and the first two notes of measure 55 are E flat in [VOL] and in [SYL], while they are C in [NMA].
Tenor, measure 64: the last 2 notes of the measure are G in [VOL] and in [SYL], while they are A in [NMA].
All voices, measure 68 - 69: spelling is “re-di-mis-ti” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “re-de-mi-sti” in [NMA].
Bass, measure 69: the note is E2 in [VOL] and in [SYL], while [NMA] shows both E2 and E3 (i.e., the same note one octave higher seems allowed).
Alto, measure 112: the last note of the measure is B in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is B flat in [NMA].
All voices, measure 126 - 128: spelling is “Miserecordia” in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is “misericordia” in [NMA].
Alto, measure 152: the first note of the measure is E in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is F in [NMA].
Bass, measure 158: the last note of the measure is B in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is G in [NMA].
Alto, measure 159: the first two notes of the measure are 1/4 + 1/4 [VOL] and in [SYL], while they are 3/8 + 1/8 in [NMA].
Tenor, measure 177 – 178: syllables “in ae-ter-num” in [VOL] and in [SYL] are “non con-fun-dar” in [NMA] instead, respectively.
Bass and tenor, measure 200 – 201: in [VOL] and in [SYL] the syllable “num” is on the first note of measure 201, and the word “non” is repeated twice on the second and on the third note of the same measure; in [NMA] the syllable “num” is on the second note of measure 201, and the word “non” is only on the third note of the same measure; as a consequence, in [NMA] the first note of measure 201 is tied to the (only) note of measure 200 .
Bass, measure 225: the first note of the measure is E in [VOL] and in [SYL], while it is C in [NMA].
