Documentation

This template is used to easily place the relevant code for a page for a new lyricist. It must be substituted as explained below.

Usage
{{subst:new lyricist}}

The page must be saved once the above code has been placed on it. Then edit the page once again to substitute the texts in red below with valid information. The source code pasted on the page is located at /Preload

Instructions:

  1. Aliases. If the composer name has any variants, insert them in the {{Aliases}} template: names should be in the form as Lyricists category (no comma), delimited by the "pipe" symbol ( | ).
  2. Born. Format dd mmm yyyy; if only year is known, enter year; if necessary, estimate year as e.g., ca. 1545. You may wish to add location of birth.
  3. Died. Format dd mmm yyyy; if only year is known, enter year; if necessary, estimate year as e.g., ca. 1810. You may wish to add location of death.
  4. Biography. Replace all of following line with free text; it may include templates or categories as appropriate.
  5. Wikipedia Link. If the composer has a page in the English Wikipedia with the identical page title, leave this as {{WikipediaLink}}. If the page on Wikipedia has a different title than here, then {{WikipediaLink|<Wikipedia title>}}. If the composer has a page on another-language Wikipedia, use the format {{WikipediaLink|<Wikipedia title>|lang=xx}}, where xx is the abbreviation for the language (de for German, fr for French, etc.). In any case, please make sure that the page actually exists before saving this page.
  6. Publications. List relevant publications by the lyricist or containing text by the lyricist. One line for each publication; link to the publication if it exists on CPDL. Many editors show the date (year) of publication on each one, and list them in chronological order.
  7. External websites. Add the url(s) for external website(s) here, one website to a line. Start each line with an asterisk (*), and include the url in single square brackets, format *[<url> <Description>] – "url" is the complete url, and notice the single space between the url and description.
  8. Category: _ births and Category: _ deaths. Replace the word Unknown by the years you entered in "Born" and "Died" above. If you estimated these years, enter here only the number, without any prefix or suffix. These numbers must be four-digit numbers, so pad them with zeroes if necessary, e.g., 0368.
