Latin.png Latin text

Tria sunt munera praeciosa
que obtulerunt Magi Domino in die ista
et habent in se divina mysteria
in auro et ostendatur regis potentia,
in thure sacerdotem magnum considera
et in myrrha Dominicam sepulturam.

English.png English translation

Three are the precious gifts
which the wise men offered to the Lord on this day
and they speak of holy mysteries:
Gold for His kingly power;
Frankincense for his high priesthood;
and Myrrh for the Lord's burial.

This text is very closely related to the antiphon Tria sunt munera.
