4  E non sol quest' m'anchora venga Giove,
E mira s'honorate treccie toi,

English.png English translation

1  Let that handsome Narcissus come, who fell in love as he gazed into the pool:
let him but look upon you once,
then flee from you if he can.
2  Let that Greek come who destroyed Troy,
and look into your eyes but once,
then flee from you if he can.
3  Let Orpheus too come with his lyre,
and hear you speak but once,
then flee from you if he can.
4  And not just them: let Zeus come
and see your braided (?) tresses,
then flee from you if he can.
