Virtute magna operatus est coram Domino
Beatus Marcus Evangelista in cuius honorem
praesens nobis adest festivitas.
Iste est enim cuius doctrina omnis terra repleta est
virtutis exemplo totius mundi refulget machina, alleluia.
Haec est illa veneranda solemnitas
in qua triumphans agonis sui viriliter consumavit
et victoriae coronam accipere meruit de manu Domini.
Alleluia.

English.png English translation

With great virtue, the blessed Mark the Evangelist,
in whose honour this feast is held, worshipped the Lord in his presence.
For it is he with whose teaching the whole earth is filled,
and by whose example the running of the whole world shines brightly, alleluia.
This is that solemnity to to be venerated,
in which the triumphant man has defeated the course of his challenge,
and has deserved to accept the crown of victory from the hand of God.
Alleluia.
