Life
Born: 29 November 1780
Died: 2 October 1858
Biography
Born in Weimar, Gerhard became a citizen of Leipzig in 1805 and dramaturg a few years later at the municipal theater. From 1827 he ran a summer theater park, coming into contact with Heinrich Marschner, Albert Lortzing and Felix Mendelssohn.
