Bramo morir per non patir più morte
E desidro che'l mio tanto dolore
Cavi quest'alma omai del corpo fore
Tal che di me più non rida mia sorte.

Meco spesso mi dolgo di mia doglia
Dogliomi che fortuna omai non voglia
Trar quest'alma d'affanni e d'esta spoglia.

Ma poi che m'è concesso il vo' pur dire,
Che ben può nulla chi non può morire.
