Biography

This South Netherlandish name appears in various 16th-century sources and refers to one of three or more musicians: Georges Cabillau (born Oudenaarde), Peter Cabeliamo, or Joachim de Tollenaere, called Cabillau (born circa 1518). Joachim de Tollenaere was a choirboy in the chapel of Charles V in 1528 and subsequently a chorister and adult singer in the chapel of Margaret of Austria, Regent of the Low Countries.
