French text Ie suis trop ionette pour avoir amy. Si suis ie bien preste den faire ung ioly, sil est a ma poste , il aura mon cueur. Et laissray mon pere, ma mere, mon frere et ma sueur. Men iray seullette au boys avecque luy, cueillir violette pour passer ennuy.

French text  modernised Je suis trop jeunette pour avoir ami. Si suis-je bien prête d'en faire un joli, s'il est à ma pote, il aura mon cœur. Et laiss'rai mon père, ma mère, mon frère et ma sœur. M'en irai seulette au bois avec lui, cueillir violettes pour passer ennui.

English translation I'm too immature to have a boyfriend. When I'm good and ready, I'll find a bonny one. If he's my pal, he shall have my heart And I shall leave my father, mother, brother, sister.
