Carlos, why did you take off his first initial? The name was correct. In German he gave it as P[aul] Leo, in English, Leo Paul has been listed occasionally.- Paul Marchesa 05:30, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi Paul, the main reason for the change is that we try to avoid initials in the name whenever possible. Searching in Google for "Paul Leo Söhner" I found zero instances of this name, while there are some instances of "Leo Paul Söhner". But he's definitely better known as just "Leo Söhner", without the "Paul" anyway. Do you really think it's important to keep this first initial? —Carlos Email.gif 05:41, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I've posted (on the author page, where this discussion should have been posted - sorry) an instance of the way his name is published in academic journals and listings as I entered it. Not to split hairs, but entering the alias of Leo Söhner woudl take care of any search issues. Perhaps various aliases, P. Leo, Leo Paul, Paul Leo should be entered and the author page corrected to Paul Leo Söhner. I prefer to be correct and call the composer by his proper name. In academic journals and musicological publications, his name is always given as [Dr.] P. Leo

Listing as above, with all three names and redirect aliases is probably the best solution. It follows other composers on CPDL. Georg Frideric Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, etc.Marchesa 05:49, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok. Just to be sure, you're suggesting that we rename composer and work pages to display his complete name ("Paul Leo Söhner") and in his composer page we list all the variants, is that right? And then we would also create redirects for these variants. For me it's ok! —Carlos Email.gif 05:56, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I think that works best! Mille grazie! -Paul. Marchesa 05:59, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
