"A very popular revival tune" (Walker 1867). Words by Charles Wesley, 1749, Hymns and Sacred Poems, Vol. 1, Hymn 65 (Hymns for One Fallen From Grace, No. 15). with sixteen stanzas. Meter of Charles Wesley's hymn (How happy are they Who the Savior obey) varies from 569. 569. to 669. 669, thus an extra syllable may be needed in some lines: for example, the first line, originally written How happy are they.
