- Edition notes: The alto part is printed in the alto clef in the source. The piano marking at bar 15 of the instrumental bass part is reiterated at bar 19 of the instrumental bass part in the source. The tenor A and G♯ on beats 1-2 of bar 11, given here as two crotchets, are printed in the source as a small crotchet grace note A followed by a full-sized minim G♯. Only verse 7 (used for the triple-time section) and verse 8 (used for the quadruple-time section) of the text are given in the source: verse 9 is the same as verse 7, and verse 10 has been added editorially as the second line of text in the quadruple-time section. The two treble-range instrumental parts in the Interlude are both printed on the same treble-clef staff in the source, the first part with tails up and the second with tails down: they have here been split out onto separate staves.
