Born in squalor,
In a stable
Behind an inn;
But this Jesus is our Saviour
And he reigns as King.

Born a baby
Tiny human,
Behind an inn;
But he is our elder brother,
We rely on him.

Born so helpless,
All reliant,
Behind an inn;
But it’s we who need his guidance,
Saving us from sin.

God was in that tiny baby,
Behind an inn;
And we wonder at the greatness
Present there in him.
