Latin text Caligaverunt oculi mei a fletu meo: quia elongatus est a me, qui consolabatur me: Videte, omnes populi, si est dolor similis sicut dolor meus. O vos omnes, qui transitis per viam, attendite, et videte si est dolor similis sicut dolor meus. Spanish translation Se nublaron mis ojos a causa del llanto, porque se habia alejado de mi aquel que me consolaba. Ved, pueblos todos, si existe dolor semejante al mio. Todos vosotros, que pasasteís por el camino, prestad atención y ved si existe dolor semejante al mio.

English translation My eyes are darkened by my tears: For he is far from me that comforted me: See, O all ye people, if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow. O all ye that pass by, behold and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow. German translation Dunkel sind meine Augen vom Weinen; denn er, der mich getröstet hat, ist fern von mir. Schaut, ihr Völker alle, ob ein Schmerz sei gleich dem meinen. O ihr alle, die ihr des Weges zieht, blickt her und schaut.
