Life

Born: 2 July 1876; Crediton, Devon

Died: 24 April 1934; Brighton, Sussex

Biography

Dr Chastey William George Hector, D. Mus. Oxon.

Son of William HECTOR (1852-1925) and Mary Ann CHASTEY (1852-1924). In 1911 he became Professor of Music and Church Organist in Hove, Sussex. From 1922 he studied at the University of Oxford where he gained the degree of Bachelor of Music, and later was awarded Doctor of Music.
