Del gran Tuonante la sorella e moglie
Mirand’in terra una beltà immortale
A cui null’altra può trovarsi eguale,
Tenta di trarle a fin l’humane spoglie.
Eolo commove, ed egli a Circio scioglie
Ogni catena; ond’ei battendo l’ale
Con subita procella il legn’assale
Che sì rara bellezza in sè raccoglie.
Quei, vinto dal furor, tutto s’asconde
In mezzo a’flutti; e quest’ad hor si vede
Quasi novella Tethi andar su l’onde.
Nereo, ch’una sua Ninfa esser si crede,
La trahe d’impaccio, e Giuno si confonde
E alla vittrice Dea la palma cede.
