Edition notes: 36 part canon, 9 choirs, only one choir shown. Notes from Thomas Gebhardt on performance: ... each part is divided into 9 singers (or parts), they start singing one bar after another, i.e. bar1=soprano1, bar2=soprano2 ... bar9=soprano9+alto(high tenor)1, bar10=alto2 ... bar17=alto9+tenor1 (on 3rd beat), bar18=tenor2 ... bar25=tenor9+bass1, bar26=bass2 ... soprano holds c until end of piece But various alternatives are possible. We have done the piece starting in bar 25 with tenor/bass duet (all singers but no canon) singing until the end, after that started the canon of soprano and alto only (18 singers). In a second version we did the complete canon (36 singers) as described above. Latin remarks in the score are quoted from original print.

Edition notes: Contains the individual soprano, alto, tenor, and bass parts for singers on a single page. See the full score for precise details of the realisation and when the various parts enter.

Edition notes: Full score. This edition represents one possible realisation of the 36 part canon, involving an overlapping repeat from bar 33 onward. If the singers are placed in a circle in singing order, the repeat will begin in the Soprano 1 part at the same time as the first entry of the last singing part, Bass 9.
