Description: This piece features 10 characters speaking in different languages or dialects: Venetian, Bergamascan, Napolitan, Spanish, Milanese, Bolognese, Sicilian, Genoese, French, and a Gypsy Italian dialect. Four pairs of characters are talking to one another, why the gypsy character sings a lullaby, and the French (in a walloon dialect) sings a chanson. Zanni (from Bergamo) and il Magnifico (from Venice) are stock characters from the Commedia dell'Arte.
