Life

Born: 25 December 1877

Died: 6 December 1936

Biography He was born in Dobrova-Polhov Gradec, Slovenia, and studied at conservatories in Trieste and Ljubljana. He did compositions for orchestras (Tatarische Suite, Aquarelle aus Ljubljana) and choirs (Die Teufelsbraut, Kaiser Samuels Tod). He also wrote songs like Bauernwinterlied, which used elements of Slovenian traditional music. His influences included Romanticism, Impressionism, and Expressionism. He died in Ljubljana.
