Description: First published in Harmony of Harmony, 1802, p. 56. Words by Isaac Watts, 1706, poem entitled The Penitent Pardoned, with eight stanzas. French used the third stanza ("Black heavy thoughts, like mountains, roll") of Watts' poem in his composition, but it makes little sense by itself.
