Description: This setting by Thomas Clark of the Collect for Whitsunday from the Book of Common Prayer was published on pp39-40 of his book A Seventh Set of Psalm Tunes, London: [c1830]. The text of the setting varies slightly from the usual text of the collect, in that the word 'as' is omitted from the opening phrase (which is usually 'God, who as at this time ...').

God, who at this time didst teach the hearts of thy faithful people,
by the sending to them the light of thy Holy Spirit:
Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things,
and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort,
through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour,
who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the same Spirit,
one God, world without end,
Amen.
