Latin text
- In illo tempore dixit Iesus discipulis suis:
- 'Nolite timere pusillus grex,
- quia complacuit patri vestro dare vobis regnum.
- Vendite, quae possidetis,
- et date elemosynam.
- Facite vobis saculos qui non veterescunt.
- Thesaurus non deficiet vobis in caelis,
- quem fur non appropriat, neque tinea corrumpit.
- Ubi enim est thesaurus tuus,
- ibi et cor tuam erit.'
- (Lc. 12, 32 - 34)
English translation
- And the Lord saith unto his disciples:
- 'Fear not, little flock;
- for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- Sell that ye have, and give alms;
- provide yourselves bags which wax not old,
- a treasure in the heavens that faileth not,
- where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
- For where your treasure is,
- there will your heart be also.'
