In illo tempore stabant autem iuxta crucem
Mater eius et soror matris Maria Cleopae
et Maria Magdalene.
Cum vidisset ergo Iesus matrem
et discipulum stantem quem diligebat
dixit matri suae:
Mulier, ecce filius tuus.
Deindedixit discipulo:
Ecce mater tua.
Et ex illa hora accepit eam
discipulus in suam.

English.png English translation

In that time there stood by the cross
his mother and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas,
and Mary Magdalen.
When Jesus therefore had seen his mother
and the disciple standing whom he loved,
he said to his mother:
"Woman, behold your son."
After that, he said to the disciple:
"Behold your mother."
And from that hour,
the disciple took her as his own.
