Jetzt sproßt herfür aus Davids Stämmelein
Jesu das Jesse Zweigelein.
Es wird geborn zu Bethlehem, im finstern Stall
beim Öchsen und beim Eselein.
Wie mag ich nur im Herzen traurig sein,
freuen sich doch die lieben Engelein,
