La Virginella è simile alla rosa,
Ch'in bel giardin su la nativa spina,
Mentre sola secura si riposa,
Ne grege ne pastor se gli avicina,
L'aura soave e l'alba ruggiadosa,
L'acqua la terra al suo favor s'inchina,
Giovani vaghi e donne innamorate,
Aman' havern' e sen' e tempie ornate.
