Oh, what Babe lies crying
Born so meek and so poor
Born for us in Beth’lem,
plac’d on stable floor.
Let us go and greet Him.
Through the winter’s snow,
Let us go now!

But when we see Him,
Worship Him in that stall,
We, too, must weep
For mankind’s Fall.
Yet His tears are like spring showers
Gently kissing the earth,
Bringing sweet flowers.

Baby, cease your crying,
Close your eyes and sleep:
Angels now do guard you,
Mary watch does keep.
So to you we now sing
Raising hearts and voices,
Making heaven ring!
