Or perds-je celle qui possède tout mon bien
et sans laquelle je dis: "Fi" du monde.
Car ayant tout, sans elle je n'ai rien.
Et l'argent seul en moi tout abonde.
Un point il y a où mon salut je fonde:
c'est que sans elle, je ne peux vivre ici.
Prends donc confort en ta douleur profonde:
la mort est près qui te rendra délivré.

English translation

I am losing the one woman who has everything that is of value to me
and without whom I do not care a fig for the world.
For, even if I have everything, without her I still have nothing.
And money is the one thing that I have plenty of.
What will decide my future is this:
without her, I can live no more.
Take heart, therefore, in your deep sorrow:
the death that will release you is approaching.
