Son 'namorato e sentomi morire
D'una donna brunetella
Gratios'e sdegnosella.
Sempre mi dice: lasciami stare, non mi parlare,
E mi fa nott'e giorno sospirare.

Deh, brunetella mia, habbi pietade,
Non conosci ch'io son morto?
Soccorso un poco a questo foco,
Che non è gioco,
Ch'io m'ardo tutto in ogni parte e loco.

S'io l'amo tanto quanto si può amare
Perché è tanto saporita
Che mi dà morte e vita; sempre le dico:
Caro mio bene, contanto bene,
Contentami 'sto core, amaro mene.

Et essa tutta quanta scornatella
Dice sempre: ahi, traditore,
Altra donna tiene al core!
Et io li dico: vita mia, speranza mia,
Non tanti guai, pietà, per cortesia.
