Biography

Stefan Scheiben began his choir career as a pupil. After active participation in numerous choirs (Choir and Chamber Choir of Georg-Buechner-Gymnasium Seelze, Stadtkantorei Gehrden, County Church Choir St. Michael Letter, Herrenhaeuser Chorgemeinschaft) he took singing lessons with Mary Johns and Udine Menzel, Hannover, and was educated by the "Landesmusikrat Niedersachsen" first as a Choir Assistant D, then as a Choir Director C (Exam in June 2005).

Nowadays, Stefan Scheiben is the director of the Gemischter Chor Borstel, a 23-member mixed choir near Neustadt/Rbg. Before that he gathered leadership experience with a student's choir and in projects with children and teenagers.

Beside this, he still sings actively, currently at the Extra Choir of Hannover State Opera, and writes own arrangements and compositions.

He has been composing choir music since 1996, although few of this was ever performed.
